Dan Maunz

Dan Maunz is an Incident Manager in the Applied Security Intelligence organization at Cisco where he helps customers leverage their Cisco infrastructure to overcome emerging security challenges and respond to security related incidents.

In this role, Dan is responsible for creating, testing, and communicating effective threat mitigation techniques using Cisco product capabilities, providing technical expertise and coordinating efforts during customer security incidents, and developing forensic procedures for the post-incident analysis of intrusion events.

Dan is a CISSP (#466975) and holds numerous certifications from Cisco and other security technology vendors.

Dan has a BA in Psychology and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maine, and master’s degrees in Information Technology and Digital Forensics from the University of Maryland.

Dan resides in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife, and when not working or writing about something security related, enjoys travelling internationally, hiking, horseback riding, and digital photography.
